Gang Starr family and loyalty

Gang Starr FT J. Cole - Family and Loyalty

Social media has been buzzing with that clip of Nas asking DJ Premier about a brand new Gang Starr album and guess what; more fuel has been added to this fire as a new single by Gang Starr featuring J. Cole has officially been released. The song titled family and loyalty has 2 unreleased Guru Verses sounding super on point like the sharp Guru we were accustomed to and the last featured verse J. Cole is reportedly to do in his feature career. There’s something about Guru on a Premo beat that just screams classic.

J. Cole comes through with raps like, “J. Cole, who’d’ve thought you would’ve been rhymin’ with Ghost/Guru flows forever like a diamond” and Guru shines with lines like, “I rock diamonds that cut glass out of window panes/Baldhead Slick blazing tracks when the indo’s flame”… Definitely this track is bound to outshine the most! We can’t wait for the album, right?

Family & Loyalty by Gang Starr FT J. Cole (Audio)

It’s been 16 years since Gang Starr released their seventh album The Ownerz back in 2003 and they had not collaborated since 2010 when Guru passed on from cancer. Family and Loyalty stays loyal to the winning formula that made Gang Starr stand out as pioneers in the underground sound with their inspiring Jazzy Raps from 89’ to 2003. We can only hope there’s more to come if this is anything to go by. Listen to Family and Loyalty HERE
