All the way from London England representing the UK is this Jamaican born Reggae fusion star. With roots from Spanish Town in Jamaica home to Chronix and Koffee it’s no surprise Jason Dermott popularly known as Stylo G is currently causing major waves with his hit single Dumpling which ended up getting a verse from Sean Paul and Spice on the Remix and is over 7million views in less than a month.
It wasn’t all roses for Stylo G as he had to move from Jamaica to London in his early teens after his father Poison Chang an artist and producer was murdered. His musical genes also extend to his brother Kodi Starr (Crazy Cousins). Stylo G is mostly known for his 3 hit singles “My Yout“, “Call Mi a Leader” and “Soundbwoy“. His most significant release was “My Yout,” a grime-oriented track that hit streets in 2004 when he was still a teen. The song had features from Sickman and Ice Kid. “Call Me a Yardie” would come along in 2011 further solidifying his presence on the scene. In 2013 Stylo G would break through after linking with the 3beat label in which the Diztortion-produced single “Soundbwoy” would be release and subsequently reach the U.K. Pop Chart Top 20 that same year.
Since then Stylo G has released and been involved in countless hits such as Yu Zimme with Lisa Mercedez and Ms Banks a hit that got the attention of Nicki Minaj to the extent of here inviting all artists on stage when she performed in the UK.
If these hits are anything to go by Stylo G is definitely on his way up. He just can’t seem to slow down or stop anytime soon. His catalogue of hits keeps expanding with every single and feature he is involved in.
